One of my favorite characters from the Netflix series The Fall of the House of Usher is Lenore Usher. Out of all the members of the Usher family, Lenore stands out because she is kind, caring, and very different from the rest of her relatives. Most of the Usher family members are selfish and focused on money, power, or their own success, but Lenore shows compassion and empathy for others. This makes her character very important to the story because she represents the idea that not everyone in a powerful family has to be corrupt.

Lenore is the daughter of Frederick Usher, and she grows up surrounded by wealth and influence from the Usher family’s pharmaceutical empire. Even though she lives in a world full of greed and dishonesty, she does not become like the others. Instead, Lenore cares deeply about people and wants to do the right thing. For example, she shows concern for her mother and others who are hurt by the Usher family’s actions. She also tries to use her influence in a positive way by helping people and supporting charitable causes. This shows that she has strong morals and values, which makes her stand out from the rest of the family.

Another reason Lenore is my favorite character is because she shows hope in a very dark story. Throughout the series, many characters make bad choices and face serious consequences for their actions. Lenore, however, is innocent and represents the possibility that things could have been different for the Usher family. Her kindness and honesty make viewers realize that the family’s downfall was caused by their own greed and selfishness, not by fate alone.

Lenore is also brave in her own way. Even though she is younger and does not have as much power as the other characters, she still speaks up and tries to help people when she can. She does not ignore the problems around her. Instead, she tries to understand them and do what she believes is right. This shows that courage is not always about physical strength, but about standing up for what is right even when it is difficult.

If I could change Lenore’s storyline, I think it should have gone differently. Instead of her tragic ending, I believe Lenore should have survived and become the person who changes the Usher family legacy. Because she is compassionate and responsible, she could have taken control of the family’s company and transformed it into something that actually helps people instead of harming them. This would have shown that even after many terrible mistakes, a family can still change if someone with strong values steps forward.

In my version of the story, Lenore would expose the truth about the company’s harmful actions and work to fix the damage caused by previous generations. She could have created programs to help the people who were affected by the company’s drugs and unethical decisions. This would allow the Usher name to eventually stand for something positive instead of greed and corruption.

Overall, Lenore Usher is my favorite character because she represents kindness, hope, and moral strength in a story filled with darkness. Her personality shows that even when someone grows up in a powerful and flawed family, they can still choose to be a good person. If her storyline had continued, she could have been the one to rebuild the Usher legacy and prove that change is possible.
